Men's Unspoken Illnesses

A fulfilling and harmonious sex life is an important component of enhancing marital harmony and maintaining family happiness. However, some men suffer from illnesses that hinder their sex life and are ashamed to seek medical help, leading to a weakening of the marital bond. Common illnesses include:

◎Weak ejaculation. Weak ejaculation can reduce male sexual pleasure and, over time, can lead to decreased libido, impotence, and other conditions.

◎Premature ejaculation. Also known as premature ejaculation, this condition is mostly caused by increased sensitivity of the nervous system's regulatory functions or psychological factors. For premature ejaculation caused by nervous system dysfunction, patient and meticulous guidance is necessary.

◎Painful ejaculation. Pain in the penis, urethra, perineum, and lower abdomen during ejaculation. The main causes of painful ejaculation include: excessive sexual activity, genital inflammation, urinary tract stones, urinary tract tumors, etc. Additionally, overly excited or vigorous sexual activity can also cause painful ejaculation.

◎Anejaculation. This refers to the inability to achieve orgasm during sexual intercourse despite the penis achieving a good erection.

⊙Erectile Dysfunction. Erectile dysfunction has many causes, broadly categorized into organic and physiological types. Organic erectile dysfunction can be caused by endocrine abnormalities, urogenital abnormalities, nervous system diseases, vascular diseases, kidney failure, cirrhosis, and infectious diseases. Physiological erectile dysfunction can be caused by factors related to growth and development, interpersonal relationships, emotions, and cognition.

◎Nocturnal Emission. Nocturnal emission is not always pathological; it is a common physiological phenomenon in unmarried young men. However, frequent nocturnal emissions after marriage are considered pathological.

Men are advised that regardless of which of the above conditions you suffer from, you should actively consult a doctor and treat your embarrassing problem as early as possible. This is not only for your own health but also for the benefit of your family life.

Men Should Pay Close Attention to Their Own Physical Condition

Men should pay close attention to changes in their bodies, promptly identify any problems, and seek medical attention as early as possible to avoid delaying treatment and causing serious consequences, resulting in suffering for themselves and their families.

Cryptoma (Undescended Testis): In cryptorchidism, the testes are affected by the higher body temperature, causing the spermatogenic epithelial cells to atrophy after puberty, thus preventing sperm production. Bilateral cryptorchidism often results in infertility due to azoospermia. If cryptorchidism is detected early and orchiopexy is performed between the ages of 9 and 11, approximately 79% of patients can regain fertility.

Varicocele: This condition is relatively common in young adults, especially adolescents. Varicocele not only causes scrotal swelling but, more seriously, it can raise testicular temperature, cause local blood stasis and resulting hypoxia, ultimately leading to impaired sperm production. Early high ligation of the spermatic vein can restore fertility in these patients.

Phimosis (tight foreskin). During puberty, the amount of secretions under the foreskin gradually increases. If the foreskin is too long, excessive smegma can easily cause membranous adhesions between the foreskin and the glans penis. Phimosis is also a cause of penile cancer. Therefore, phimosis needs to be treated as early as possible.

Frequent nocturnal emissions. Statistics show that over 80% of unmarried young men have experienced nocturnal emissions. One nocturnal emission per week is not abnormal and will not adversely affect health. However, if the frequency of nocturnal emissions is excessive, or if semen is released from the penis at the first sign of sexual arousal, this is considered pathological. Men with frequent nocturnal emissions should consult a doctor promptly to identify the cause and receive appropriate treatment.
